Anganwadi workers play a crucial role in nation building by raising young children, Mr. Sharma said at an event here.
Mr. Sharma said that the State Government has taken various steps to strengthen Anganwadi centers in the last two years. It announced a 10% increase in wages for Anganwadi workers, helpers and lunch cooks and their helpers from April 1.
The Chief Minister said that children aged three to six years are provided with hot milk five days a week at Anganwadi centers under Amrit Aahar Yojana. “These buildings are being renovated and smartphones are being distributed to workers and female supervisors,” he said.
Mr. Sharma asked Anganwadi workers to give their suggestions for the Prime Minister’s improved village districts campaign from March 19 to May 15. Road maps compatible with local wishes are being prepared for all village panchayats and urban neighborhoods within the scope of the campaign.
