2 Trains Collide In Denmark, Injuring 17 People, Emergency Service Says

COPENHAGEN, April 23 (Reuters) – In a statement made by emergency services, it was stated that 17 people were injured, 5 of whom were in critical condition, as a result of the head-on collision of two local trains in the north of the Danish capital Copenhagen on Thursday.
Two yellow and gray trains were seen in the area facing each other in a wooded area, both with visible damage to the front; Rescuers described “chaotic” scenes inside the carriages.

“Two trains collided head-on, causing huge damage and broken glass flying everywhere,” fire and rescue services leader Christoffer Buhl told reporters in March.
A police spokesman said it was too early to say what caused the crash and added that a full investigation would be carried out.
Police said a total of 38 people were believed to have been on the two trains at the time of the crash, which occurred shortly before 06:30 (04:30 GMT).
Police said the incident occurred on the train line connecting the towns of Hillerod and Kagerup.
“There are injuries among the passengers. Everyone is outside the trains, so no one is trapped… A large amount of resources have been deployed to the scene,” a spokesman told Reuters earlier.
In its statement on the X channel, the fire brigade said that the injured were removed from the accident scene by ambulance and helicopters.
