What do we know?
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, around 4:45 p.m., a man was driving an SUV northbound on Highway 71 while another man was driving a passenger van southbound on the highway. The two vehicles then collided head-on near 240th Street.

5 people died and 8 people were injured in the accident. Authorities stated that 2 people had non-life-threatening injuries and 6 people had non-life-threatening injuries.
Police identified the following people among the dead:

The driver of the SUV was 67-year-old Martin Hanson.

There were no passengers in the SUV.
