695 Motorists Booked for Drunk Driving in Twin Cities; Two-Wheelers Top List

Hyderabad: City and Cyberabad traffic police penalized 399 and 296 drivers respectively for drunk driving. All criminals will be referred to the courthouse.
In Hyderabad borders, 321 people were two-wheeler drivers, 31 were three-wheeler drivers and 47 were four-wheeler drivers. Hyderabad joint commissioner (traffic) D. Joel Davis said the blood alcohol content of the top 10 accused exceeded 300, against the legal limit of 30 micrograms of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.
According to Cyberabad traffic police, 231 of the 296 drivers registered were on two-wheelers. Of those booked, 11 had BAC levels between 301 and 550.
Miyapur traffic police detected the highest number of criminals with 48, followed by Raidurgam with 39. The least number of criminals were seen in Narsingi with 14.
5 people arrested, MDMA and marijuana seized
Panjagutta police, in coordination with Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (HNEW), arrested five persons, including a local drug dealer, and seized MDMA and hydroponic marijuana during raids conducted at Panjagutta police station limits on Sunday.
Panjagutta ACP P. Murali Krishna said the raids were based on reliable information and were carried out by inspector Ramakrishna, sub-inspector G. Naresh and HNEW teams. Police seized 10.5 grams of MDMA, 7.5 grams of hydroponic marijuana (OG) and five mobile phones from the accused.
The main accused has been identified as Katangur Mahan Reddy alias Mahan (28), a driver from Beeramguda. The four minor hawkers arrested were Mohammed Abdul Nabi alias Arshad, catalog assistant; Rupani Mukesh Babu aka Banni, IT recruiter; Sriram Ravi Teja aka Teja, a student; and Bhupathi Sai Chaitanya aka Sunny, software worker.
ACP said suppliers, transporters and users linked to the noise are fleeing. “Special teams were formed and work was started to catch them,” he said.
