A video obtained by Politico and released Wednesday shows California Democratic gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter berating a staffer after he stepped into her footage during a 2021 video call.
In the clip, then-U.S. Rep. Porter, D-Calif., is seen talking with Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm about energy and climate issues. At one point, an officer entered the frame, prompting Porter to move and yelling, “Get off my fucking shot!” He encouraged me to shout.
He also scolded the employee for appearing in the background earlier.
“You were lucky enough to have me before that,” Porter said. “Stay out of my shooting range.”

Politico noted that Porter’s outburst was removed from the final version of the Energy Department’s webinar.
The Porter campaign did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
The resurfaced footage follows another viral clip this week showing Porter lashing out at a reporter and trying to end the interview.
During a segment on California’s redistricting efforts, CBS California correspondent Julie Watts asked Porter: “What do you call the 40% of California voters who voted for Trump that you would need to win?”

Porter, considered by many to be the frontrunner in the race, asked: “How do I need them to win, ma’am?”
“Unless you think you’re going to get 60% of the vote,” Watts said, making Porter laugh.
The exchange became tense when Porter backed off the question, arguing whether he should court Trump voters, especially if he’s running head-to-head with another Democrat.

“So you don’t need them to win,” Watts asked Porter.
“I think it’s causing unnecessary controversy,” Porter said, prompting the reporter to point out that he had asked the same question to other candidates in the race and they had answered it, too.
“I don’t want to keep doing this, that’s what I’ll say,” Porter said.

“Aren’t you going to do the interview?” Watts said as Porter tried to remove his microphone.
“No, I’m not like that, I follow up every question you ask seven times,” Porter replied.
When Watts reminded Porter that each candidate answered the question, Porter said, “I don’t care.”
After Watts was pressed further, Porter said he “didn’t want to have an unhappy experience with you” and that he “didn’t want this all to happen on camera.”

The clip received widespread attention online, with conservatives criticizing Porter for grappling with follow-up questions.
