Legendary Drug Store Officially Closing After 117 Years
A iconic pharmacy officially closes its doors after more than 100 years.
A local California Pharmacy has been opened for more than 100 years, as it closed some of its stores due to a few leading national chains, online delivery, rental prices and an increase in more. However, this will no longer move forward.
This month, the owner, an 117 -year -old pharmacy officially closes well on July 15th. Jerry Tonelli, the owner of the store, goes to retirement.
Tonelli wrote, “With a heavy heart I announced my retirement,” Tonelli wrote Central Drug Store’s Facebook Page At the beginning of June. “We are a small, but strong pharmacist. And we are proud to say that we have left behind Walgreens, CVS, Rite Help and Mail Order Services. I am pleased to say that this is my choice and that I have left my own conditions! It is time to start a new stage in our lives and spend more time with our families.”
It was a work that has been run by the family for more than 100 years.
Tonelli, “Over the years, then children and then the children of their children had almost the same customers” Tonelli He told Chronicle. “It’s just a life cycle that we see that he’s coming here, because after a while it becomes a part of your social life.”
Unfortunately, such closes became a theme in the California region of San Francisco.
Sfgate reported that at least 64 San Francisco region pharmacy in the last 10 years has been closed.
The Central Drug Store in the Excelsior Region has become the last pharmaceutical store to participate in this list.
