Gurukul Girl Student’s Suicide Leads to Protests

Karimnagar: In a tragic incident, a Class

School principal Afrina Sultana said the student had health problems, including kidney pain, and went home for treatment. He returned to the hostel around 18:00 on Thursday evening, citing upcoming exams. He was described as an academically bright and friendly student, and his sudden death shocked everyone.

Her family told police she called her father, crying and saying she was scared and wanted to return home. They immediately left to meet him, but when they arrived, they found that he was already dead.

Upon receiving information from the school administration, the police came to the scene, investigated and the body was taken to Huzurabad State Hospital for autopsy.

The incident sparked protests from student unions and political leaders who demanded responsibility for the tragedy. Huzurabad BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy held a demonstration at Ambedkar Chowrasta in Huzurabad town and carried the student’s body from the hospital and accused the state government of negligence. He claimed that more than 110 students have died in Gurukul schools under the current administration.

It demanded ex-gratia compensation of ₹1 crore for the victim’s family, a thorough investigation into the incident and immediate suspension of the warden and guard.
