High voter turnout in Bihar reflects trust in Modi-Nitish governance, says PM

Modi made his prediction on the victory of NDA led by JD(U) chief Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Bihar at a rally in Aurangabad district of the poll-bound state, where he also praised the Election Commission for successfully conducting the elections in 121 constituencies where polling was held.
“I am doing what I promised,” he said, citing examples of the construction of the Ram temple, the abrogation of Article 370 and Operation Sindoor.
“Yesterday, Bihar voters broke all records. Never before in the history of the state has there been such a high poll percentage. Much of the credit goes to mothers and sisters who voted in large numbers to increase the turnout to almost 65 per cent. It is clear that they all relied on the track record of Narendra-Nitish,” Modi said.
The Prime Minister said people voted to ensure that an NDA government remains in place which will ensure good governance in Bihar.
“They did not fall for the false promises of the RJD-led opposition. Even the Congress, despite being an ally, does not trust the promises made by the RJD in its manifesto,” Modi said. Modi claimed that the people do not want a return to the ‘jungle raj’, where Naxal rebels ruled and many people lost their lives in violence and bomb blasts during the elections. Addressing the controversial RJD, Modi said, “Jungle raj wallahs have taught even children to talk about things like katta (unlicensed country-made gun) and dunaali (double-barreled gun).”
“Jungle raj wallahs represent everything that comes in the way of investments and employment generation. They must have tried to create mischief this time too. But I appreciate the Election Commission for conducting regular polls,” Modi said.
The chief minister alleged that Nitish Kumar, the state’s longest-serving chief minister and whom he credits for “ending jungle raj”, faced non-cooperation from the Center “in the first nine years of his tenure” when the Congress-led UPA was in power.
“People trust the track record of Modi and Nitish because I am doing what I promised. Today, there is a Ram temple in Ayodhya which has eliminated 500 years of injustice. Article 370 has been revoked. And I had promised that the perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack on Bihar soil will be punished. You all know what happened in Operation Sindoor,” Modi said.
Speaking in the Bihar region, where a large number of people are known to be in the armed forces, the Prime Minister also talked about the first-tier pension scheme, which has led to transfer of Rs one lakh crore into the accounts of ex-servicemen.
“RJD workers might not even know how many zeros are in one lakh crore,” the Chief Minister chuckled, adding: “They cannot think of providing jobs to the people. While promising jobs, they took away their land from the people. Now they are out on bail,” the Chief Minister said.
The implication was to commit job scams related to RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s tenure as Railway Minister in the UPA 1 government. The lawsuit names Prasad and some of his family members, including his son and heir Tejashwi Yadav, who is the Prime Ministerial candidate of the INDIA bloc.
“Congress and RJD know nothing but the politics of insults. They belittled Chhathi Maiya, calling it a drama. They spoke ill of Maha Kumbh. You must punish them on November 11, when the second phase of polls is scheduled,” Modi said.
The insinuation was Lalu Prasad’s remarks about the 12-year-old mega congregation held in Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh a few months ago and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s accusation that Modi had stirred up a “drama” by announcing that he would take a dip in the Yamuna in Chhath but backtracked when news leaked that a waterhole with “clean, piped water” had formed near the riverbank.
