Jubilee Hills bypoll result to decide future of 4-crore TG people, says Harish Rao

HYDERABAD

Senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao termed the by-election for Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency as an event that will decide the future of not just four lakh voters but four crore people of Telangana.

Speaking at a ‘Meet-the-Press’ programme, organized by the Press Club in Hyderabad on Friday, he said that people were waiting for the result to change their fortunes, by teaching a fitting lesson to the Congress Government that had failed to keep all the promises, except a few, made before the 2023 Assembly elections.

He said that apart from the CM’s brothers, no section was happy with the A. Revanth Reddy rule.

Alleging that the Revanth Reddy Government was blackmailing the realtors and business community, Mr. Harish Rao said that the Congress Government was only busy destroying the State, while the previous BRS Government was working for the progress of the state. He accused the government of conducting discreet raids on universities as they demanded the release of fee refund charges.

He stated that the ruling party leaders, who could not explain what they had done in the last 23 months, were also blackmailing the people of Jubilee Hills, and that even the social assistance programs implemented would be stopped if the Congress lost the by-election. Mr. Harish Rao referred to the ruling party’s ‘failure’ in the Cantonment constituency after winning the by-election in early 2024.

Stating that the crime rate increased by 22 percent in Telangana after the Congress took over, the BRS leader said that investments have escaped from the state and the real estate sector is in a deep collapse. He claimed that demolition of poor people’s homes, increasing drug menace, flight of investments and rising crime rate have become hallmarks of Congress rule.
