NIA arrests youth from West Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur for alleged links with terror outfits

A youth with alleged links to terrorist organizations has been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in West Bengal’s Uttar Dinajpur district, a senior police officer said on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
He said the youths were picked up from Sujapur area of the district on Friday morning, November 15, by NIA sleuths on suspicion of alleged terror links.
“The arrested youth has been identified as Janisur Alam, a resident of Ludhiana,” the police officer said, adding that the man was seen wandering around the station premises in a suspicious manner before he was caught.
“During interrogation, he allegedly tried to escape and was subsequently detained,” a source from the central investigation agency said.
The source also stated that the teenager “may have been linked to multiple acts of sabotage.”
“We are yet to ascertain whether he has a direct connection with the Delhi blast. Digital devices and documents were seized from his possession,” he said.
13 people died and many were injured in the explosion near the Red Fort in New Delhi. The government had described the explosion near the Red Fort as a “terrorist incident”.
Following the blast in Delhi, the NIA raided the house of migrant worker Moinul Hasan at Nabagram in Murshidabad district on Wednesday, an official said.
“Hasan worked intermittently in Delhi and Mumbai and during his time in Delhi, he shared a house with a Bangladeshi national with whom he was believed to have had long-term contact,” the NIA source said. he said. PTI.
Central investigation agency sleuths are investigating whether Hasan had any links with members of extremist organizations at that time or was in contact with the youths arrested in Uttar Dinajpur.
