cash transfer women Bihar: Cash transfer to accounts of women played important role in NDA’s victory in Bihar: Jan Suraaj

The party failed to garner votes in its favor despite a fast-paced campaign and raising pressing issues such as unemployment, immigration and industrial shortage in the state.
Speaking to reporters here, Jan Suraaj Party national president Uday Singh said, “We are disappointed but not upset with the results of the Assembly polls. Even though we did not win even a single seat, we will continue to oppose the ruling NDA.”
He said the party had failed to convince Muslim voters in Bihar.
“The mission also proves that the people do not want the return of RJD,” Singh said.
She claimed that the cash transfer of Rs 40,000 into women’s accounts by the ruling NDA government in Bihar played a “crucial role” in her victory. Singh was talking about the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana in Bihar; Under this, Rs 10,000 each had been transferred to the bank accounts of women in the state. “This was an attempt by the government to bribe people ahead of the election. Votes were bought. Cash benefits were handed over even after the model code of conduct came into force,” he alleged.
“We are now waiting to see how the government will transfer the remaining Rs 2 lakh to the accounts of women in the state,” the Jan Suraaj leader said. he said.
He also claimed that the NDA failed to get even 50 per cent of the votes in the Bihar polls.
Responding to a question on whether Prashant Kishor will remain active in politics now that JD(U) has won more than 25 seats, Singh said, “You should ask this question only to Kishor.”
Kishor had earlier claimed that he would quit politics if Nitish Kumar’s JDU won more than 25 seats.
JD(U) secured 85 seats in the assembly polls.
The ruling NDA dealt a major blow to the Congress and its ally RJD on Friday by decimating the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar, reaffirming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popularity and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s enduring appeal.
The massive scale of the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) victory can be gauged from the fact that its two main constituents – the BJP and JD(U) – achieved a strike rate of almost 85 per cent in the 101 seats each contested.
The alliance achieved a ‘200 paar’ victory for a three-fourth majority in the 243-member Bihar assembly, with the BJP emerging as the largest party.
