Russian air defences shoot down four drones headed for Moscow, mayor says
(Reuters) -rusia air defenses headed to Moscow on Saturday, the city mayor, one of the main airports of the capital’s temporary flights, he said.
Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that emergency services work in the places of fallen drones, but did not give information about potential damage.
The Ministry of Defense said that 94 drones in Russia on Saturday and 45 drones were destroyed between 0800 MSK (0400 GMT) and 1350 MSK.
He said that Moscow’s outgoing flights at Shemetyevo airport were temporarily paused on Saturday before being removed.
Rosaviatsia referred to St Petersburg’s security concerns, including Pulkovo Airport, and said that the flights and outgoing flights in other Russian cities were temporarily stopped.
