Toronto Murder Case: A 30-year-old woman of Indian descent was found dead in Toronto, prompting police to issue a nationwide arrest warrant for a suspect believed to have known her, local media reported.
The victim was identified as Himanshi Khurana. Toronto Police have identified 32-year-old Abdul Ghafoori, who also lives in Toronto, as a suspect in the case and are actively searching for him. According to Toronto Police, officers were first alerted late Friday night after receiving a report of a person missing.
“On Friday, December 19, 2025, at approximately 10:41 p.m., police responded to a call for a missing person in the area of Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West,” police said in a statement. The next morning the cops made a grim discovery.
“On Saturday, December 20, 2025, at approximately 6:30 a.m., officers located the missing female deceased at a residence,” police said, adding that the death was treated as a homicide.
Police confirmed that the victim and the suspect knew each other. Investigators said the case involved “intimate partner violence,” CBC News reported, citing police sources.
Abdul Ghafoori is wanted on a Canada-wide arrest warrant for first-degree murder; This charge carries a penalty of life in prison without parole if premeditation and premeditation are determined in court.
