Highway 4 between Aluf Sade intersection and Em Moshavot intersection was closed in both directions, police said, adding that traffic south of Em Moshavot intersection was diverted to Petah Tikva.

Video footage shared by Walla shows Border Police officers trying to disperse protesters who were sitting on the road and blocking the passage of vehicles.

Police later confirmed officers arrested at least three of the protesters.

Protesters allegedly shouted that the police officers trying to break up the protest were “Nazis,” Walla reported.

An anti-conscription haredi protest blocked the highway near Ashkelon early Sunday, but the road was quickly reopened after police arrived on the scene and dispersed the protesters.

A similar protest by the group occurred at the same location on Monday.
