Images released of Renee Nicole Good, US citizen killed by ICE in Minnesota

Photos of US citizen Renee Nicole Good, who was killed by a masked ICE agent in Minneapolis during the Trump administration’s immigration operation on Wednesday, were published.

The fatal shooting occurred during a crackdown on immigration in south Minneapolis, where Good was shot while inside his car.

It was announced that 37-year-old Good died as a result of gunfire. The identity of the agent who shot the woman has not been publicly disclosed and the investigation into the incident continues.

Photos were released Wednesday showing Good in professional portraits and with his family.

In their joint statement, Minneapolis City Council members demanded that ICE leave the city after the attack.

“This morning, an ICE agent shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, a member of our community,” the statement said. “Anyone who kills someone in our city deserves to be arrested, investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Council members said they support the immigrant community in Minneapolis and accused federal immigration officials of bringing “chaos and violence” to the city and vowed to work with state partners to protect residents.

Other Democrats in Minnesota and across the country also condemned ICE for the killing and called on them to leave Minneapolis.

“ICE’s actions today were unreasonable and reprehensible,” Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., told X. “I am beyond outraged that their reckless, insensitive actions led to the murder of a legal observer in Minneapolis. My heart breaks for the victim’s family, who will forever have to live with the pain caused by the Trump Administration’s reckless and deadly actions.”

“This is not law enforcement. This is state violence. This is completely indefensible and ICE needs to be held accountable,” he added.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-Y., told reporters she believes the ICE agent killed Good.

“This has become what we’ve feared most about ICE for a long time; that it will be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was murder, and cold-blooded murders need to be prosecuted,” he said.

President Donald Trump, administration officials and congressional Republican leaders claimed Good tried to run over the agents with his vehicle, but some Democrats said video footage showed that was not the case.

“Watch for yourself and make your own assessment of which of these leaders is lying to you,” Ocasio-Cortez told reporters.

But Republicans reaffirmed their support for ICE despite criticism from Democrats and the public over the killing.

“I want every ICE officer to know that their president, vice president, and the entire administration have their backs,” Deputy Chief J.D. Vance wrote to X.

ICE agents were seen blocking a witness who said he was a doctor from going to Good after the shooting and telling the doctor that his own paramedics were on the way.

Good’s mother, Donna Ganger, told The Minnesota Star Tribune that her daughter lived with her partner in the Twin Cities and that the family was notified of her death late Wednesday morning.

“This is so stupid,” Ganger told the press after learning the details of the incident. “He was probably very scared.”

Ganger told the newspaper that her daughter was not involved in protests against ICE agents and described Good as “one of the kindest people I’ve ever met,” saying she was compassionate and dedicated to taking care of others.
