SAD claims Majithia a victim of political vendetta, after he gets bail in DA case

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday (February 2, 2026) welcomed the bail granted to senior leader Bikram Singh Majithia in the disproportionate assets case filed by the Supreme Court, despite the Akali leader all along claiming that he was a victim of political vendetta.

Senior SAD leaders Daljit Singh Cheema and Arshdeep Singh Kler alleged that the State government had framed a fake disproportionate assets case against Mr. Majithia.

“It is now clear that after the AAP government failed to file a ‘challenge’ in the fake narcotics case filed against the Akali leader and the special leave petition granting bail to Mr. Majithia in the case was dismissed by the Supreme Court, it has decided to implicate the Akali leader in the fake disproportionate assets case. This case will eventually reach the same conclusion as the fake narcotics case filed against Mr. Majithia,” they said.

The leaders alleged that the AAP government was making a desperate attempt against Mr. Majithia to silence him for his constant condemnation of the government’s wrong policies along with defending the rights of the people.

Mr. Majithia was arrested by the Punjab Vigilance Bureau on June 25, 2015, for allegedly laundering drug money of over ₹540 billion through different channels.
