Nitin Nabin To Address Maiden Rally On Feb 4

Hyderabad: BJP president Nitin Nabin will launch the party’s campaign for the February 11 municipal elections in Telangana with a rally in Mahabubnagar on Wednesday. This is Nabin’s first visit to Telangana after taking over as BJP president last month.
Nabin would land at RGI airport here at 1 pm on Wednesday and head to Mahabubnagar at 3 pm to address the gathering of BJP’s booth-level and mandal-level activists. He will return to the airport at 5.45 pm, BJP sources said on Tuesday.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah is also expected to address a public meeting in Telangana to support party candidates in municipal elections. Telangana BJP is hopeful that its prospects in urban local body elections will improve with Nabin’s public meeting.
The BJP, which performed well in the non-party Gram Panchayat elections last month, is hoping to achieve impressive victories in the city elections. The BJP aims to emerge as an alternative to the ruling Congress and opposition BRS in the 2028 assembly elections in Telangana.
The saffron party had won eight seats in the 2023 assembly polls and an equal number of constituencies in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Despite bagging two MLC seats in 2025, it suffered a major setback by losing its security deposit in the recent bypoll in the Jubilee Hills assembly segment.
