Hilaria Baldwin hits out at New Yorkers for failing to help when ‘a crazy person was chasing and screaming at’ her

Hilaria Baldwin said her frightening experience at a New York City park taught her a bigger life lesson: People need to get involved and help others in need — even if it takes them out of their comfort zone.
The 42-year-old yoga expert was seen lying down as she recalled details of the harrowing exchange in a clip on Instagram.
Hilaria, who has seven children with husband Alec Baldwin, told her 1 million followers: “I was walking in a park and a crazy man was chasing me, shouting and saying awful things to me.” ‘And that’s not the crazy part!’
Hilaria, who has been married to the Oscar-nominated actor since 2012, said “the craziest part is that no one came to her aid” even after she cried for help.
Hilaria said: ‘I asked for help and the responses were either silence, walking away or they [said]A few times I heard “I don’t want to get involved in this” or “I don’t know what to do”.’
Hilaria said the incident overall made her “think about everything that’s going on in the world right now.”

He said the cold-blooded, ad hoc responses he received from bystanders at the incident in the Big Apple meant that ‘we can’t have answers when people ask us for help.’
Hilaria said: ‘We have to be involved even if we don’t know what we’re doing.’
Hilaria asked the people around, ‘Will you walk with me?’ He said he asked questions like: ‘Will you stay with me?’ ‘Will you help me?’ but could not get any help.
Hilaria said she was ‘fine’ but was ‘shaken’ after the incident and noted that it was rare for her to seek help from strangers in any situation.
‘I’ve lived here for over 20 years,’ Hilaria said, ‘and it’s hard for me to ask for help because I’m a stubborn Capricorn and I think I’m stronger than I am super independent.’
Hilaria initially said she wouldn’t share the story, but felt it was necessary to speak out and use her platform to spread an important message.
“Imagine if it was one of my kids or anyone, I could help them,” Hilaria said. ‘We have to help people even when we don’t know what to do and even when we don’t want to get involved.
‘We’re doing this because it’s the right thing to do; I love you, goodbye.’

Hilaria further explained the reasoning behind retelling the story to her followers in the adjacent thread.
‘I’m only sharing this story because I think it’s important to get involved,’ Hilaria said. ‘There’s a lot going on in the world and I know it’s very difficult, but apathy can’t win.’
He added: ‘If we think someone else is going to handle this for all of us, it has to be someone else.
‘I’m completely fine so this doesn’t have to be about me… it was just an eye-opening experience that I wanted to share.’
Hilaria and Alec, 67, are parents to seven children: daughters Carmen, 12, and María Lucía, five, and Ilaria, two; and sons Rafael (10), Leonardo (9), Romeo (7) and Eduardo (5).
Baldwin is also the father of Ireland Baldwin, 30, and his ex-wife Kim Basinger, 72.
