Golden Corral Customer Suffers ‘Irreversible Injuries’ After Alleged Attack by Staff who Accused Him of Dine and Dash: Complaint

A. Golden Corral The customer suffers “irreversible injuries” including traumatic brain injury after Golden Corral staff allegedly stabbed and assaulted him with a fork.

Gary Sellinger, 59, was dining at Golden Corral with friends in Henderson, Nev., on Feb. 2, 2025, when he was allegedly assaulted after being accused of not paying for his meal, according to the amended complaint obtained by PEOPLE.

In the amended complaint, Sellinger said that he and his friend paid in cash and that their third friend paid for their dinner so that he could join them later without waiting in line.

The business manager then accused his party of not paying and told them to leave, even though Sellinger tried to explain that he had a receipt, the complaint states. Sellinger alleges that when he stood up to give the manager his silverware at his request, another employee grabbed him by the neck and slammed him against the table.

The complaint goes on to say that several employees “assaulted, hit, kicked, and stabbed” [Sellinger] “with a fork” causing “serious and irreversible injuries”.

“He suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was thrown to the ground,” Sellinger’s attorney, Keith Galliher, told PEOPLE. “He hit his head on the chair”

“This is one of the most unusual cases I have ever encountered,” Galliher said.

Sellinger, along with the employees who allegedly carried out the attack, will sue Golden Corral for damages exceeding $15,000, attorney fees and litigation costs.

Galliher argued that Golden Corral in Nevada was liable for the actions of its employees while performing the duties for which they were hired.

Golden Corral did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
