“I am heartbroken and don’t know how to move on without him,” Knight wrote.
“I came to Australia in 1977 as a 21-year-old and met Bernie not long after; we’ve been in each other’s lives ever since. I can’t imagine what our lives would have been like if our paths hadn’t crossed. I don’t know how many shows the Eurogliders have done over the years – there must have been thousands of them, and Bernie stood by me at every single one of them. It’s been such a wonderful, wonderful journey and I’m so proud and honored to have shared it with him.”
Lynch was also the sole author of the 1985 hit book Eurogliders. We Will Do It TogetherIt reached #7 in Australia.
“Without Bernie’s songs, there would be no Eurogliders,” Knight said.
“The songs he wrote when he was young that are still listened to; the songs that are still played on the radio 40 years later, the songs that people still sing together at our concerts. The songs that bring joy to so many people. What a great legacy and what a wonderful contribution to the cultural landscape of this country.”
More to come.
