Nvidia stocks: U.S. Stock Market Today: S&P 500, Dow Jones, Nasdaq down. Check Nvidia, Tesla stocks’ performance

Brent crude was on the rise but well within session tops of $119 a barrel after Iran attacked energy targets in the Middle East overnight, prompting the U.S. government to take steps to expand supply.

Thursday’s data showed weekly jobless claims fell unexpectedly last week; This indicated that labor market conditions were stable and employment growth picked up in March.

Declining stocks outperformed advancing stocks in the S&P 500 by a ratio of 1.4 to one. The S&P 500 recorded 17 new highs and 26 new lows; Nasdaq recorded 30 new highs and 276 new lows. Trading volume on US stock exchanges stood at 20 billion shares on average over the last 20 sessions.
