Addressing the media, Leavitt said that Iran’s ballistic missile and drone attacks have dropped significantly since the beginning of the operation. She added that more than 140 Iranian naval vessels, including nearly 50 mine layers, have been destroyed, calling it the largest elimination of a navy in such a short period since World War II.

Leavitt also stated that the United States is trying to eliminate Iran’s defense industrial base to prevent future threats in the region. He noted that US forces recently attacked underground facilities along Iran’s coastline used to store anti-ship cruise missiles and mobile launchers.

As for congressional approval, Leavitt said formal authorization is not needed at this stage because the United States is still engaged in active combat operations. He noted that the administration notified key Congressional leaders in advance and continues to brief lawmakers. According to her, the operation is expected to be completed within a four-to-six-week timeframe and is currently on Day 25.

He added that President Donald Trump is continuing these operations to eliminate threats posed by Iran and ensure the safety of Americans. Leavitt also expressed confidence that energy prices will stabilize once operations are completed.

Leavitt, who rejected reports of a “15-point plan”, said that such a plan was not approved by the White House, but the talks were continuing and productive.

Responding to statements about regime change in Iran, he noted that Iran’s previous leadership structure had been significantly affected, arguing that a change in leadership had already occurred. He added that the United States is looking for leadership in Iran that is more willing to engage constructively.

Leavitt also praised Vice President J.D. Vance, describing him as a key advisor involved in major national security decisions, including recent diplomatic efforts related to conflicts in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, about 2,500 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division, including command and logistics support units from the division’s 1st Combat Brigade, are deployed to the Middle East, a U.S. Department of Defense official said.
