Police Seize ₹2.27 Crore Cash From Pastor’s House In Narsapuram

KAKINADA: Police seized ₹ 2.27 crore cash from the house of Ghanta John Babu Rao, pastor of the church in Lakshmaneswaram village in Narsapuram Rural mandal.
Narsapuram Rural circle inspector G. Durga Prasad and sub-inspector TV Suresh Babu said they received information that the priest’s son-in-law Samson had brought unaccounted cash of ₹ 50 lakh from Hyderabad to Lakshmaneswaram village.
When Samson reached John Babu Rao’s house, the police conducted a raid and seized the money from the car. They later searched the priest’s house and found bundles of cash totaling ₹ 2.27 crore. When officers questioned the pastor about the cash, he gave inconsistent and incoherent answers, police said.
Narsapuram DSP M. Sudhakar said the total seized money was handed over to the Income Tax department.
