Minister Reviews Haj 2026 Plans For 10,000 Pilgrims

HYDERABAD: Minister Azharuddin on Wednesday directed officials to ensure a seamless experience for around 10,000 Haj pilgrims leaving Hyderabad Embarkation Point from May 4.
A high-level coordination meeting held at the Secretariat to finalize the arrangements reviewed accommodation, transportation, airport operations, healthcare, security, baggage movement and Zam-Zam distribution. Directives have been issued to airport authorities to maintain high standards at RGIA’s main terminal, paying particular attention to Wazu and Prayer areas and immigration counters.
Charter Hajj flights via Flynas will operate between 4 May and 21 May, and return flights from Medina will be scheduled between 11 June and 26 June. The minister asked the authorities to provide support to senior citizens with comfortable accommodation facilities at the Hajj House, fast documentation and boarding pass services, medical screening and vaccination camps, special buses from the Hajj House to the airport, hassle-free baggage handling, separate facilities for women pilgrims, boarding on the aerobridge, prayer and cleaning arrangements, and 24-hour security with crowd control.
Senior officials from police, airport authorities, GHMC, RTC, health department, TS Transco, fire services, BSNL, banks and Haj Committee attended the meeting and assured full cooperation.
Azharuddin emphasized the use of Hajj Suvidha App and official Telegram channels for real-time updates and underlined inter-departmental coordination with district-level religious leaders to manage the flow of pilgrims.
Of the 9,660 pilgrims flying from Hyderabad, 6,660 are from Telangana and the rest are from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and other states. Telangana received 11,557 online applications and 2,500 people remained on the waiting list.
