After the terrorist attack that killed 26 people in Kashmir’s Pahalgam city on April 22, 2025, India and Pakistan closed their airspace to each other’s aircraft. While India’s airspace ban has been in effect since April 30 last year, Pakistan had closed its airspace to Indian aircraft from April 24, 2025.
The ban, which was part of various measures taken by the Indian government against Pakistan in the wake of the terror attack, was initially valid until May 24, 2025 and was subsequently extended every month.
In general, NOTAM is a notification containing the information required for personnel involved in flight operations.
Indian airlines are now operating longer routes to various international destinations due to the closure of Pakistani airspace.
