Slender loris electrocuted on power line near Dindigul

Recently, a slender loris passed over the overhead line on the Dindigul-Eriodu route and died due to electric shock. The body was found by passersby.

S. Bharathidasan, secretary of the non-profit organization Arulagam, said such incidents often go unnoticed by the authorities. “There is an urgent and critical need to install insulated cables or protective casing on overhead cables. This is the only long-term solution to prevent these ‘silent passengers’ from getting electrocuted,” he said.
