Parliamentary panel ‘taken aback’ as NMC issues regulations without law ministry clearance

A parliamentary committee said it was “surprised” to find that key regulations issued by the National Health Commission (NMC) were not reviewed by the Union law ministry; This is an essential prerequisite for preventing future injuries.
The Lok Sabha Subsidiary Legislation Committee, in its report on “weaknesses in the regulations framed under the National Medical Commission Act”, said it is important to get the draft rules and regulations examined by the law ministry from legal, constitutional and drafting perspectives.
