NCSC seeks report on Mamata Banerjee’s alleged ‘derogatory’ remark against SC community

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) on Sunday, April 26, 2026, took cognizance of a video clip in which West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee allegedly used “derogatory” language against the SC community during an election rally.

The NCSC has written to the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of West Bengal, directing them to submit a detailed report within three days of receipt of the notification.
