California’s ‘First Partner’ Jennifer Siebel Newsom attacked President Donald Trump and criticized the president for ‘talk’ after his contentious ’60 Minutes’ interview with the female host[ing] “To such an insulting female journalist.”
The interview included a contentious exchange between Trump and Norah O’Donnell over questions about the attacker at last weekend’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner; President Trump called O’Donnell a “disgrace” and “disgraceful” mid-interview.
During her conversation with the president on Sunday evening, O’Donnell said Trump’s comments came after O’Donnell read excerpts from the attacker’s manifesto, which described the president as a “rapist,” a “pedophile” and a “traitor.”

“But that’s the problem,” he continued. “Because when this level of disrespect from the highest office in the land repeats itself, it begins to seep into our culture and define what power looks like, shaping how boys and many men view women and girls and what they accept as normal behavior.”
The Fox News digital broadcast reached out to the White House and representatives for Governor Newsom and his wife but did not receive a response in time for publication.
Trump’s ’60 Minutes’ interview came Sunday night Authorities identified the suspect Cole Allen, 31, of Torrance, California, authorities said Allen prepared a manifesto outlining his intentions, which included anti-Trump and anti-Christian rhetoric on social media. During the interview, O’Donnell read portions of the document that allegedly addressed concerns that Trump was a sexual harasser and a traitor, prompting a defensive response from Trump.
“I was waiting for you to read this because I knew you would because you are terrible people,” Trump replied. “Terrible people. Yes, he wrote that. I’m not a rapist. I didn’t rape anyone.”

“You think he’s talking about you?” O’Donnell asked.

Trump continued: “I’m not a pedophile. Did you read this nonsense from a sick person? I’ve been associated with everything that has nothing to do with me.” “I’m completely exonerated. Your friends on the other side, the ones who were involved in, say, Epstein and other things. But I said to myself, ‘You know, I’m going to do this interview and they’re probably going to…’ I read the manifesto. You know, he’s a sick person. But you should be ashamed of yourself when you read this because I’m none of those things.”
O’Donnell interrupted, claiming she was quoting the alleged gunman’s words, but Trump continued to call her “disgraceful.”
“You shouldn’t be reading this on ’60 Minutes.'” You are an embarrassment. But go ahead. Let’s finish the interview,” Trump said.

Trump’s “disgraceful” comments garnered widespread attention online, including from Siebel Newsom, who said after the interview that the “culture of misogyny” displayed by Trump “concerns us all and must end.”

“When you add rhetoric rooted in political division and amplified by the digital ecosystem that rewards anger and misinformation, this cultural norm of hatred, marginalization, and misogyny becomes pervasive,” Siebel Newsom continued. “Behaviors that should challenge are normalized; those that should cause concern are reinforced and supported. It is no wonder that we have a culture that normalizes domination and aggression against women and girls, not only silencing them but also leading to the internalization of misogyny in others.”
But conservatives have rallied around Trump.
“What’s truly disgusting in this clip is Norah O’Donnell’s faux-innocent surprise: ‘Do you think she was talking about you?’ Reacting to Trump’s interview comments, New York Post columnist Miranda Devine said, “He knows full well that some Democrats, like Ted Lieu, call Trump a pedophile and a rapist every day.”
“White supremacy lies are over, here’s a new hoax. Rich from a party that protects illegal alien child molesters.”

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich added, “Norah O’Donnell may have reached her nadir of disgusting and inhumane demagoguery disguised as journalism.” “The idea that you would accept the brutal, dishonest and disgusting words of a murderer who was thwarted by the Secret Service but would otherwise have killed so many people, and honor them by publishing them and asking the President of the United States to comment, is as devastating as anything a great reporter has done in a long time.”
