Defense Department CTO Emil Michael said Friday that Anthropic still poses a supply chain risk, but Mythos, the company’s artificial intelligence model with advanced cyber capabilities, is “a distinct national security moment.”

“I think the Mythos issue, which is being addressed across government, not just in Department War, is a distinct national security moment where we need to make sure that our networks are hardened, because that model has specific capabilities for finding cyber vulnerabilities and remediating them,” Michael told CNBC’s “Squawk Box” on Friday.
