Joe Rogan suggests Trump will use UFO disclosure to distract from Iran war

Podcaster Joe Rogan suggested to Rep. Tim Burchett, R-Tenn., on Thursday that President Donald Trump may soon release classified information about Unidentified Anomalous Events (UAPs), commonly known as UFOs, as a strategic “distraction” from the ongoing conflict with Iran.

Rogan, a prominent media figure known for the “manosphere” and independent voters who support Trump in the 2024 elections, recently joined the chorus of populist voices criticizing the administration’s second-term foreign policy. Despite Trump’s campaign pledge to avoid “endless wars,” current military operations in Iran have led to a rift between the White House and some of his most influential media allies.

On Thursday’s episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, the host and the Tennessee congressman discussed why the executive branch might suddenly be moving toward transparency on an issue traditionally shrouded in “Deep State” secrecy.

“I want to say why now – to explain – it doesn’t make complete sense, it’s cynical… The Iran war isn’t going very well,” Rogan said, referring to recent pauses in Operation Epic Fury. “The American people are very upset. A lot of people think we shouldn’t have gotten involved in this in the first place. And we need good news.”

“We need something to distract us,” Rogan added. “We need something to distract our focus…”

“If I was going to do it, now would be the time to do it,” Burchett interjected.

The congressman acknowledged that the timing was suspicious, but argued that Trump’s personal motivations may have been simpler.

“I don’t even think Trump really cares [about the distraction]. “I think he just wants to get it out there,” Burchett said. “I don’t think he cares about trying to throw everyone off the mark by exposing UFOs. I think he cares about all of this, but I don’t think he cares if they talk about it or not. “I think he really understands that America needs to know these things.”

Rogan noted that even though Trump is the incumbent, he still leans on his “outsider” persona.

“He also realizes that America wants to know… so this is his last term, right? If someone’s going to do it, do it,” Rogan said. “You want to leave a legacy? Be the person who releases all these files.”

TRUMP SAYS FIRST STATEMENTS FROM PENTAGON UFO STUDY WILL COME ‘VERY VERY SOON’ AFTER PHOENIX RALLY TEASE

An ironic development in recent years is that commentators keen on paranormal theories have suggested that government chatter about UFOs/UAPs is simply a distraction from more mundane, mundane matters, rather than the other way around. (iStock)

Burchett, a longtime advocate for UAP transparency on the House Oversight Committee, argued that even with a supportive president, “entrenched forces” within the defense establishment remain the primary obstacle.

“The war pimps at the Pentagon and everyone else don’t give up that easily,” Burchett said, using his signature phrase for military contractors and hawks.

He also criticized the administration’s broader spending, arguing that the ongoing costs of the Ukraine conflict are a burden on domestic priorities.

“I didn’t vote a dime for this. This isn’t our daddy’s gum war,” Burchett said. “Keep my dollars here. We need to protect our own gum borders.”

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
