Infrastructure is foundation of economic growth, says M. Jamshed

In a special speech here, M. Jamshed said that infrastructure is not only the basis of development but also development itself. HinduMaharashtra Infrastructure Conclave 2026 was held in Mumbai on Friday, 22 May 2026.
Talking about India’s infrastructure growth trajectory in the last decade, Mr. Jamshed described Maharashtra as a “lighthouse” for infrastructure development from Delhi’s perspective and expressed hope that the State will continue to maintain this position.
He said that the infrastructure work carried out by the Center since 2014 has gone beyond the traditional focus on transportation and energy and is moving towards a more integrated approach covering physical, digital and social infrastructure.
Mr. Jamshed said core sectors such as roads, railways, shipping, civil aviation and energy, along with digital infrastructure and social infrastructure segments including rural drinking water, sanitation and water resources management, together constitute the key drivers of India’s economic growth trajectory.
