Arne Slot to LEAVE Liverpool with immediate effect after end of season review – with Andoni Iraola in running to take up Anfield reins

Liverpool are set to part company just a year after Arne Slot led them to their second Premier League title.
The Reds finished fifth in the Premier League this season and qualified for the Champions League after a record-breaking £415 million transfer spend in the summer.
There were grumblings about Liverpool’s style of play and questions about his relationship with some of the club’s key stars, most notably Mohamed Salah.
Salah recently took to social media to harken back to his ‘heavy metal attacking team’ days under Jurgen Klopp, which was widely perceived as a dig at the Slot.
Liverpool were also unable to repeat their Champions League victory under Klopp, reaching Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 and the quarter-finals under Slot.
In terms of reductions, it was always going to be difficult to emulate Klopp, one of the totemic figures in Liverpool’s history, and after a standout first season, Slot’s side were plagued by injuries and transfers that ended at a slower pace than expected.
Many fans saw Xabi Alonso as their dream successor, but following his move to Chelsea, Andoni Iraola is at the forefront following his move from Bournemouth.
Iraola led Bournemouth to the Europa League and built his teams in attractive style, but he never managed a club like Liverpool after stints at Larnaca, Mirandes and Rayo Vallecano.
More to follow.
