Handy was born in New York and made his big screen debut in ABC’s Ryan’s Hope in 1977, the same year he also starred in the movie Taps.

He had nearly 150 films and television credits to his name, most recently appearing as bartender Jimmy in Top Gun: Maverick.

Handy’s other film credits include his role as the doctor who treats Hugh Jackman’s main character in Logan. He played the destroyer Handy in the 1995 hit Jumanji.
