Socceroos v Switzerland scores, odds, how to watch, news, team lists

If you’ve been following Vince’s news in America, you’ll know that the tournament hosts have reignited their tit-for-tat fight against the Socceroos. Former international during the week Alexi Lalas insulted Australia and asked Tony Popovic to print out his comments and paste them on the walls of the team’s locker room.

“I hope they print it out. Make sure you spelled my name correctly,” Lalas said. “Hopefully it’s wallpaper all over the Australian dressing room because they’re going to need all the help they can get.”

Key context: In December, former American player-turned-CBS Sports analyst Mike Grella described the Socceroos as a “lay-up.” Last month, Grella struggled to defend his position during an on-air debate with Mark Schwarzer, after which he said that if the United States couldn’t beat Australia, they shouldn’t qualify for the World Cup.

I’d be pleased to report that the USA got off to a poor start in their friendly against Germany (currently on the field), scoring an easy opening goal in the second minute from Joshua Kimmich’s free kick that picked out an unmarked Kai Havertz at the far post.
