F1 2026, scores, results, odds, stats and start time from Circuit de Monaco

Flying youngster Kimi Antonelli took pole position in Monaco with a last-gasp “magic lap” but Oscar Piastri resigned himself to being a minor player in F1’s most crowning race after McLaren competed in its 1000th grand prix.

19-year-old Mercedes star Antonelli took pole position by just 0.043 seconds, beating the two best drivers of all time on the famous street circuit: Red Bull’s Max Verstappen (1 minute 12.094 seconds) and Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton (1:12.279).

Antonelli saved his best for last to ensure Mercedes took pole position at every grand prix this season and the young championship leader couldn’t help but beam.

“It was one of those laps we call the magic lap. I managed to put it all together,” he smiled, putting on a particularly remarkable display considering his teammate and championship rival George Russell could only finish sixth.
