You can now search property listings through ChatGPT as Housing.com integrates AI

Housing.com announced Friday that it is launching a local property search experience in ChatGPT that allows users to explore housing listings through natural language queries rather than relying solely on traditional filters and keyword-based searches.

“The launch marks another step in Housing.com’s ongoing efforts to make buying and renting homes simpler through technology,” the company said.

The digital real estate platform said the new feature will allow users to search for properties, refine preferences and compare options through natural, conversational interactions on ChatGPT. The integration aims to make the property search experience more seamless and personalized by allowing users to describe their needs in everyday language.

How does this integration work?

According to Housing.com, users can now search for properties on ChatGPT by describing their needs in simple language. The platform will then give you relevant lists based on your need and refine the results as needed.

“By bringing the property search experience to ChatGPT, Housing.com is positioning itself at the forefront of this change, making property discovery more accessible, smart and user-focused. And not only that, Housing.com is also investing in the future of the property viewing experience,” the company said.

Speaking about the integration, REA India (Housing.com) CEO Praveen Sharma said that the company’s growth strategy is focused on expanding its geographical footprint and technology capabilities.

“As we deepen our presence in more Indian cities, we are equally committed to creating smart experiences that simplify every stage of the property search journey. The launch of ChatGPT represents a significant step in this direction. As India’s leading real estate app, we are embedding AI at every stage of the consumer journey, from discovering the right home through natural conversation to experiencing properties in smarter, more immersive ways. Our aim is to humanize technology to simplify decisions, making every home search feel possible,” the senior executive said.

Founded in 2012 and acquired by REA India (formerly Elara Technologies Pte. Ltd.) in 2017, Housing.com offers a wide range of properties across India, including new homes, resale homes, rental homes, plots, commercial spaces and co-living accommodations. It currently has a presence in more than 45 cities, which includes both tier 1 and tier 2 markets.

The increasing role of artificial intelligence in consumer searches

This move highlights the growing role of generative AI in digital commerce and consumer searches. As users increasingly rely on interactive interfaces to get recommendations and make decisions, companies are exploring new ways to bring their services directly into AI-driven ecosystems.

In February of this year, Washington-based real estate brokerage company Redfin also launched an app on ChatGPT that allows its consumers to have a more conversational experience when searching for a home. In a press release, Redfin said the app allows consumers to ask specific housing-related questions and refine their searches without having to re-enter criteria.

Similarly, EaseMyTrip went live on ChatGPT in April, allowing users to access the travel platform directly through ChatGPT Apps. According to the company, travelers can enter their travel requirements in natural language to search, plan and book trips through the chat interface.
