Earlier, the government had decided to transport the question papers by aircraft belonging to the Indian Air Force (IAF). Question papers will be transferred by IAF to 18 locations across the country.
CRPF and CISF personnel have been deployed to ensure the security of exam papers while they are being taken to examination centres, a government official said.

According to an internal communication sent by the CRPF directorate in Delhi on June 12, CRPF units across the country have been asked to “deploy personnel and appoint nodal officers for security arrangements for transportation of confidential NEET-2026 exam material”.
In another communication, all commanders were asked to ensure that personnel assigned to this duty have a clean record and that no disciplinary or other investigation is pending against them. “Their wards, family members and relatives should not appear for the NEET exam,” the message said.
The NEET-UG 2026 exam, which was first held on May 3, was canceled across the country on May 12 following allegations of paper leaks. The Central Bureau of Investigation is investigating the incident.
