ASR District Reviews Progress Under ‘Aspirational Districts’ Programme

Visakhapatnam: Alluri Sitarama Raju (ASR) district administration on Friday reviewed the implementation of the Desirable Regions Programme, at a high-level meeting held at the Collectorate.
Niti Aayog representative Karthik Reddy attended the review.
District collector T. Nishanti chaired the meeting, which reviewed progress in the areas of health and nutrition, education, agriculture and water resources, financial inclusion, skill development and infrastructure.
Officials presented reports on program achievements, innovative practices, challenges and future action plans.
The Collector said the aspirational areas program has become an effective platform to accelerate development and improve governance in tribal areas. He emphasized the need for better coordination between ministries to ensure timely implementation of projects and effective delivery of government programs.
ITDA project officer Aditya Varma outlined development initiatives implemented through inter-departmental coordination, highlighting progress in education, healthcare, livelihoods and infrastructure. He also touched upon efforts to promote coffee and pepper cultivation and pledged ITDA’s support in achieving the program’s goals.
Karthik Reddy praised the district administration for the implementation of the program and grassroots development initiatives. He said visits to Anganwadi centres, health facilities, schools, livelihoods, Van Dhan Vikas Kendras, Rythu Seva Kendras and public libraries provided first-hand information about the progress achieved.
He called on authorities to strengthen data-driven management, adopt innovative practices and ensure timely submission of reports.
The meeting was attended by ITDA project officer and officials from the departments of health, education, women and child welfare, agriculture, tribal welfare, rural development, Panchayat Raj, drinking water supply and skill development.
