Great Denham deaths: Tributes paid to beloved mother and children found dead at Bedfordshire home in suspected triple murder

The family of a mother and her two children found dead at a property in Great Denham have spoken of “unimaginable loss”.
Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, known as Zandile, Natalie, 15, and five-year-old Nala were discovered by police officers at a large detached house on Carnoustie Drive in Great Denham, near Bedford, on Monday.
Although official identification has not yet been established, police believe the victims are 42-year-old Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, known as Zandile, and her daughters Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5.
Bedfordshire Police believe they were murdered and a suspect has been identified as 45-year-old Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, who goes by the name Mark. An international manhunt is currently underway.
A family statement issued through Bedfordshire Police reads: “The Khumalo family is deeply saddened to confirm the passing of our beloved Zandile (Nothabo) Khumalo and her two children.
“We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has reached out to us with prayers, messages of comfort, and support during this time of unimaginable loss. Your kindness and compassion have brought great strength to our family.
“As the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain the subject of a formal investigation, we are unable to comment further at this stage. We are also awaiting guidance from the relevant authorities before confirming funeral and memorial arrangements.
“We ask for your respect and patience while the necessary processes are completed. An official update will be shared as soon as more information is released.
“We ask the media and the public to respect our family’s privacy during this extremely difficult time and to refrain from sharing or disseminating unverified information or speculation.
“The Khumalo family sincerely appreciates the continued love, prayers and support shown by family, friends and the wider community.”

Both schools attended by Natalie and Nala also paid tribute to the two girls; Natalie was described as “fun-loving, full of life and a positive influence on everyone she came into contact with.”
Miss Gemma Gibson, headteacher of Bedford Girls’ School, paid tribute to Natalie: “Natalie was a bright and successful Year 10 student who was much loved by everyone at Bedford Girls’ School.
“He was a talented dancer, musician and passionate athlete. He was fun-loving, full of life and had a positive impact on everyone he came into contact with; he will be remembered with warmth and love.”
“Her tragic death, along with the deaths of her loving mother and younger sister whom many of us knew well, was an incredibly devastating shock to everyone at Bedford Girls’ School and Harpur Trust schools.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Natalie’s family, friends and everyone affected by this terrible news.”

Pilgrims Preparatory School Principal Jo Webster remembered Nala as someone who “brought warmth and happiness wherever she went” and said she “had an extraordinary impact on our community and will be remembered with tremendous love and affection”.
He said: “Nala was a much-loved member of our school community and brought joy to those around her every day.
“Many of our staff had known him since he was seven months old and had the privilege of watching him grow. “Known for his curious and cheerful nature, positivity and great sense of humour, he was a little ray of sunshine.
“Whether she was wearing one of her favorite colorful hair accessories, making those around her laugh, or being the center of attention at our Preschool Nativity event, Nala brought warmth and happiness wherever she went.
“She had an extraordinary impact on our community and will be remembered with tremendous love and affection. Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Nala’s family, friends and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss.”
