Leading House Democrats appear caught off guard when asked about the Democratic Socialists of America’s (DSA) newly unveiled plan that calls for destroying the current American political system by eliminating the Senate, the president, and the Supreme Court.
“I don’t support it,” Rep. Ro Khanna of California said when asked about the new agenda. “I didn’t read the proposal.”
“Workers Deserve More,” a revision of the DSA platform, plans to eliminate the Senate entirely and replace the president and the Supreme Court with an executive branch and judiciary elected by and reporting to Congress.

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., one of the most progressive Democrats in Congress, avoided answering Fox News Digital’s questions about the new socialist agenda.
“I’m not a member of DSA, so I can’t comment on any of the documents they submitted,” said Rep. Pete Aguilar, D-Calif.
The political commitments of the program are divided into three parts; the final section calls for “a unicameral, proportional legislature (abolition of the Senate) and a parliamentary system (abolition of the presidency), among other goals.”
The platform also calls for the complete abolition of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), pardoning all immigrants, including those who have committed crimes, and defunding the War Department.

The organization has publicly advocated for the abolition of ICE since 2018, and its current platform calls for an “immediate end to all deportations,” “expanding full voting rights to criminal prisoners and noncitizens,” and a host of other extreme immigration reforms, including easing restrictions on immigration control for intercountry migration.
The far-left plan comes at a time when the socialist agenda is beginning to make its way into the mainstream Democratic party, with many DSA members and self-proclaimed socialists outpacing more moderate Democrats in most of this year’s primaries.
Aguilar told Fox News Digital that he’s “not at all” worried about a wave of far-left socialist candidates complicating the Democratic party’s agenda.
“I look forward to working with all of our colleagues running as Democrats,” Aguilar said.

In a statement published Friday in the DSA’s official magazine, Democratic Left, the organization laid out the formal requirements for these socialist candidates to receive endorsements from the DSA.

“Workers Deserve More will have a formal role in DSA’s national candidate endorsement process. Candidates “will be expected to embrace and promote the DSA program and align their campaign platforms with the content of that program to the best of their ability,” according to the resolution calling for a new Workers Deserve More.
Even though House Democrats like Omar, Khanna and Aguilar told Fox News Digital they had either not read the proposal or declined to comment, the approval requirement means the platform is more than a policy wish list; because candidates seeking DSA approval are expected to run campaigns in line with their agenda.
