KTR Defamation Notice on Revanth on Globarena Allegations

HYDERABAD: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Thursday issued a legal notice to Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for quashing the “false, malicious and defamatory” allegations linking him to Globarena Technologies and irregularities in the exams.

In his notice, Rama Rao demanded an unconditional public apology from Revanth Reddy, along with retraction of the statements and an undertaking not to repeat such allegations. The notification also demanded that the Prime Minister apologize within 48 hours; otherwise Rama Rao would take appropriate civil and criminal proceedings, including seeking damages and other remedies available under the law.

The notice denied allegations that Globarena was a benami company owned by Rama Rao and added that there was no forensic finding, investigation report, official record or legally admissible material to establish that Globarena was owned, controlled or beneficially held by Rama Rao or that he had any financial or proprietary interest in the company. It was stated that Revanth Reddy’s allegations were made recklessly, without verifying the facts and were only intended to tarnish the public image of Rama Rao.

The statement also rejected allegations that Rama Rao was also responsible for the government’s inaction that led to student suicides.

The notice alleged that the Prime Minister made many baseless allegations regarding examination irregularities during the media interaction and later amplified them through social media and other public platforms without providing any evidence to substantiate his allegations. According to the statement, the statements were widely disseminated across television channels, newspapers, digital media platforms and social media, causing serious damage to Rama Rao’s reputation and public standing.
