Tulsidas Jayanti 2025: Did the great poet really see Prabhu Ram? His divine encounter still gives devotees goosebumps

Tulsidas Jayanti, celebrated on July 31, 2025, honors the birth of Goswami Tulsidas, one of India’s most respected poets and saints. Tulsidas, known for his unshakable devotion to Lord Ram, made spiritual literature more accessible to the masses, Ramcharitmanas, a timeless work of Valmiki, a version of Ramayan’s Awadhi language.

He also composed Hanuman Chalisa, who is still a prayer described by millions of people today.

But beyond its literary size, a mystical question still lies: Tulsidas really met Lord Ram?

Did Tulsidas see Lord Ram?

According to ancient texts such as Bhaktirasbodhini by Priyadas, Tulsidas gave water to a ghost that once circulated. In contrast, the ghost guided him to meet Hanuman, who could help him find Lord Ram.

Tulsidas watched the instructions and noticed a leprosy dived into a devotion during a Bhajan session. He was none other than Hanuman, who was disguised as leprosy. It is believed that the meetings are now known as the Temple of Sanatmochan Hanuman in Varanasi.

Hanuman later directed Tulsidas to Chitrakoot, a sacred area, which was said to be influenced by the divine existence of Lord Ram. There, Tulsidas had two bright prince visions without realizing that they were Ram and Lakshman. However, after Hanuman explained his identity, Tulsidas fully grasped the ones. Lord Ram disappeared shortly after he uncovered, left Tulsidas in tears, but at the same time deep, full of spiritual happiness. Although it was short -lived, the divine encounter changed his life forever.
