Eminent Poet And Writer Devdas Chhotray To Receive 46th Sarala Puraskar

BHUBANESWAR: Seçkin Poet and writer Devdas Chhotray was named the 46th of Sarala Puraskar for his short story collection ‘Matinee Show’, published by Timepass broadcast in 2023.

The award, which was initiated by IMFA No Güven (IMPACT), will be given on October 26 at a ceremony at Bhubaneswar.

Chhotray will receive a reference, a record and 7 Lakh Cash Prize in Odisha’s most famous literary sounds. His work was selected from seven short lists of the contributions of Apparna Mohanty, Mamata Dash, Padmaj Paul, Ashutosh Parida and Bijay Kumar Satphy.

The short list panel consisted of Durgaprasad Panda, Krushna Kumar Mohanty, Pabitra Mohan Dash, Shrideb and Dr Shakti Mohanty. The last jury included literary figures Prakash Mohapatra, Pabitra Panigrahi, Dhanangay Swain, Paramita Sunpathy, Susmita Bagchi, Dr Pravina Mohanty and Syria Mishra.

In addition to Sarala Puraskar, Impact, Ila-Bansidhar Panda Kala announced Samman’s lifelong contribution to art. This year, Onur will go to the famous painter Baladev Maratha and will draw attention to the musicologist Ramhari Das, each of which will be a certificate, a record and RS 2.5 lakh.

Kala Samman jury included Dr Adyasa Das for performing arts, Sujata Mohapatra and Sangita Panda and Panchami Manoo Ukil, Sudarshan Patnaik and Pradosh Swain.

The impact established by ILA and Bansidhar Panda in 1980 was effective in promoting ODIA literature, art, music and culture. In 1993, he founded Ekalabo Puraskar among Odisha’s most prestigious sports awards.
