Advanced Micro Devices strikes partnership with OpenAI, stock soars
After Openai’s announcement of a long -term agreement to strengthen artificial intelligence infrastructure, Micro devices developed on Monday.
Openai plans to use AMD instinct processing units or GPUs at 6 Gigawatt throughout the partnership. Companies, the first 1 Gigawatt distribution will begin in the second half of 2026, he said.
As part of the agreement, Openai received up to 160 million AMD stock purchasing order. If it is given exactly, these stocks will represent approximately 9% of AMD in the current buoy.
The AMD stock won 24% in pre -Sunday transactions on Monday. The share increased by 36% this year from the closing of Friday.
