The warning driver of an EMU train working on the Deula-Magahat railway line in the Sealdah section prevented an accident after stopping the vehicle when he saw the sleeping of the runway on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. As part of the 9 July general strike called by some unions, the protesters blocked the train line with sleeping.
In addition, banana leaves were thrown on the wires of the Fire Equipment (OHE) between Deula and Magrahat stations, threatening the movement of the trains and the safety of the passengers. Railway staff moved immediately and provided uncomfortable train services.
In a statement, the Sealdah railway section warned strict actions against criminals who pampered such activities and endangered the lives of the passengers.
Sealdah’s department railway director Rajeev Saxena called on all citizens to act responsibly and cooperate with railway workers.
