Kevin Owens has been away from the ring for several months.
The last time any professional wrestling fan saw him was weeks before WrestleMania 41, when he announced to the world that he needed neck surgery that would keep him out of action for several months.

Owens has been seen sparingly since then. He has appeared as a coach on “WWE LFG” and recently appeared on the pre-show for NXT The Great American Bash.
Fox News Digital asked Sami Zayn, one of Owens’ best friends, about him in a recent interview ahead of Night of Champions. Zayn said it took time for Owens to be at a point where he could return to the ring.
“I don’t want to talk about sharing medical supplies outside of school,” Zayn said. “The procedure he undergoes takes time. He’ll do due diligence, rehab exercises and stuff. But when you’re talking about fusions and those types of procedures, it’s really just a matter of time; you just need time to get where it needs to be.”
Zayn added that any of WWE’s top shows — “Monday Night Raw” or “Friday Night SmackDown” — would see a significant boost in quality with Owens’ presence.

“I hope more than anyone that he comes back soon. I think the fans are really… I get a lot of questions about him. So it’s clear how much he is loved and how much he is missed,” he said. “It goes without saying that he is an extremely valuable talent. He is a unique talent that leaves a gaping hole when he is not in your squad.
“And I think the better our show would be with him on SmackDown or Raw because of what he brings to the table. So I think he’ll really add a lot of depth, dimension, excitement and quality programming to whatever show he’s on (when he comes back). That goes without saying.”
Zayn and Owens have been WWE mainstays since joining the WWE.
