Millions of teens off social media following ban, government claims

MILLIONS OF YOUNG PEOPLE’S ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN DISABLED
The Albanian government said nearly five million social media accounts believed to belong to children under 16 were disabled within two days of the flagship ban coming into force.
As of December 12, more than 4.7 million accounts had been disabled, removed or restricted, the government said. The ban on children under the age of 16 from having accounts on ten leading platforms began on December 10.
Prime Minister responding to the figures Anthony Albanese in question: “It is encouraging that social media companies are making meaningful efforts to comply with the law and keep children off their platforms.
