Ilhan Omar’s daughter tied to alleged CCP-linked group after sponsored trip

While Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., has denied accusations that she has a multi-million dollar net worth since being elected to Congress, her daughter has continued her hard-line left-wing political activism and support for communist causes, which began when she was just 12 years old.

Isra Hirsi, whose mother and founding member of “The Squad” was just 16 when she was elected to Congress in 2019, described herself as an “angry Black girl” and played the role of a fierce political activist. While her views appear to align with those of her famous mother, she denies reports that Omar is worth as much as $30 million.

The New York Post reported in 2024 that Hirsi attended demonstrations when she was just 12 years old and joined Omar and her family at the Black Lives Matter event that forced the Mall of America to close. The demonstration was later stopped by 50 riot police and more than 200 police officers.

By the time she was about 15, Hirsi was serving as one of the founders and co-executive directors of the U.S. Youth Climate Strike, an offshoot of activist Greta Thunberg’s “Fridays for Future” organization, according to a biography on the Brower Youth Awards website.

Hirsi received the award in 2019, which is given to young people who are actively involved in climate sustainability advocacy.

Omar shared in 2024 at

Hirsi’s association with anti-Israel groups and his participation in camps that plagued the Columbia University campus led to his suspension from Barnard College in 2024.

Later, while Omar was in Congress, she continued her education at a private liberal arts college for women in New York City.

The estimated cost of attending Barnard is just under $100,000 for resident students, including tuition, room and board.

Omar’s daughter later became an organizer for CU Apartheid Divest and Columbia Students for Justice in Palestine, an organization not officially recognized by the Ivy League school.

Fox News Digital reached out to Hirsi and Omar but did not hear back.

In April 2024, Hirsi was arrested by the New York City Police Department along with more than 100 people who were issued summonses for trespassing as a result of the camps on the Ivy League campus. On this arrest, Omar praised her daughter for her “courage and compassion” and said she was “extremely proud.”

Omar posted on X: “So proud of my daughter @israhirsi.”

“Taking steps to change something that is not tolerated is why we as a country have the right to speech, assembly and petition enshrined in our constitution,” the post said.

Just 15 months after her arrest, the New York Post reported that Hirsi posted an Instagram Story explaining that she was unemployed and selling used clothes to make money, but continued to post anti-Israel content on various social media platforms.

Last month, he traveled to Cuba on a trip sponsored by CodePink, an organization co-founded by Jodie Evans, wife of Shanghai-based American tech tycoon Neville Roy Singham, who supports the policies of the Chinese Communist Party.

Hirsi, along with other far-left activists, traveled to Cuba to protest economic sanctions imposed on the country by President Donald Trump’s administration; While most activists stayed in a five-star hotel, many residents of the communist country suffered from power outages.

“People from around the world are here to express solidarity with the Cuban people,” Hirsi X wrote in her post. “The people who stand against the oppressive blockade that the attacks further deepen [T]stern management. I’m honored to be here. “I am honored to make history and wish everyone a happy Eid al-Adha.”

In an Instagram post praising his trip to communist Cuba, Hirsi credited the People’s Forum, an organization that received a documented $22.44 million from Singham, according to a Fox News Digital investigation. The post stated that the United States “has been bullying Cuba for a long time with its sanctions, and now this oil blockade is killing people.”

According to Fox News Digital, Singham funneled $278 million to a nationwide network of agitating groups, with People’s Forum and CodePink at the center of many heated demonstrations.

Omar’s non-Congresswoman X account, which has 2.8 million followers, interacted with her daughter’s account on the platform, mostly praising her political activism in posts that were later reshared by Hirsi. Although Hirsi’s social media presence was less active on X, she frequently reposted far-left accounts during her time at Barnard.

“I am incredibly proud of Isra and everyone who traveled to Cuba,” Omar said in an X post that Hirsi later reshared. “They got a ton of help to let the Cuban people know that there are a lot of people around the world who stand in solidarity with them.”
