Bendigo Bank, NAB and ANZ slash jobs amid technology changes

Morningstar analyst Nathan Zaia said that banks are facing the costs of inflation and IT infrastructure from personnel fees. Zaia said that when banks combine CT systems, they could help risk management and make banks more efficient.

“If you can make every banker write a faster loan, you probably don’t need too many bankers over time,” he said. “We probably see that it takes place slowly in banks. I don’t think we will see a sudden step in the number of people.”
